According to a Nigerian music video director, Shatta Wale, the “richest Artist in Ghana,” owes him money.
Dancehall king Shatta Wale has come under fire from renowned Nigerian filmmaker and video director Sir Choppenson for allegedly not paying up on unpaid invoices for a number of his projects.
Sir Choppenson claims that he was hired to make several music videos for Shatta Wale, including the most recent one for the song “Killa Ji Mi,” which was shot in Tamale.
Speaking out on social media, Sir Choppenson asserted that he has not yet received full pay for the 13 videos he completed for Shatta Wale, including the one that garnered worldwide notice and resulted in a collaboration with Beyoncé.
He said that less than $5,000 was agreed upon for the most recent shoots, but Shatta Wale had pledged $15,000, which is still outstanding.
Sir Choppenson said, “I have been begging for my money for over a month now.” “Shatta Wale makes excuses or gets angry every time I call.”
The filmmaker of the video conveyed his dissatisfaction and anguish over the circumstances, underscoring that he has been demanding money for more than a month.
He talked about how every time he phoned Shatta Wale to ask about the payment, he would always become angry or make excuses.
The director of the video stated that he has had a big impact on Shatta Wale’s career. Despite assurances from Shatta Wale’s management, he expressed anger about the delayed payments.
Shatta Wale, who considers himself to be Ghana’s richest singer, has not yet officially addressed the accusations.
