According to reports, veteran Nollywood actor Emmanuel France has passed away.
Nigerian director Olufemi Ogedengbe verified the information by posting the heartbreaking statement on Instagram. Ogedengbe, who described France as an uncle and a legend, spoke nostalgically about their work together on three films in Tanzania in 2006: Cross My Sin, She Is My Sister, and The Director.
“Rest in peace to one of Nollywood’s legends, Uncle Emmanuel France,” he said, expressing his sympathies. In 2006, I brought one of the actors to Tanzania. Together, we worked on three films: The Director, She Is My Sister, and Cross My Sin. Godspeed.
Emmanuel France, who was born in Ghana and is thought to have been in his 80s, was well-known for his roles in a number of Nollywood productions.
