Authorities at Opoku Ware School deny reports of widespread deboarding.

The administration of Opoku Ware institution has vehemently denied any allegations of widespread de-boarding, which have put the institution at the center of controversy recently.

The headmaster, Rev. Stephen Sekyere Owusu, addressed the circulating rumors in a statement, emphasizing that the disciplinary actions taken by the school recently were not as extensive as had been claimed.

He stated that the actions were not directed towards the 1,200 or 6,000 kids that were allegedly referenced in different stories, but rather against a particular group of students who had left the school premises for the Easter break without sufficient authorization.

Rev. Owusu emphasized the school’s dedication to upholding the Ghana Education Service’s (GES) regulations and preserving discipline.

He clarified that the impacted kids were instructed to temporarily remain at home while the Disciplinary Committee (DC) made its decision.

The school administration has scheduled a meeting with the parents of these pupils to fully address the problem and involve all parties in the disciplinary procedure.

The headmaster wants to make sure that these kinds of things don’t happen again, emphasizing the school’s zero-tolerance indiscipline policy.

Opoku Ware School is attempting to work with families to reinforce the value of adhering to school policies by including parents in the resolution process.

Rev. Owusu’s request that parents assist the school in enforcing discipline rather than promoting disobedience highlights the need for a team approach to education and the well-being of the students.
