Bawku conflict: According to Bawku Naaba’s lawyer, we have now lost fifteen lives.
According to the Bawku Naaba’s attorney, Agbambilla Ziyerley Maxwell, 15 persons have recently died in the Bawku war.
A further attack occurred on Sunday, October 27, 2024, when some attackers erected roadblocks in Walewale Town and Gbimsi, halting traffic in order to find possible targets.
The horrific event claimed the lives of at least eight people.
Agbambilla stated, “For my information, we have currently lost a minimum of 15 people in Bawku and some are being slaughtered in Walewale,” during an interview with Benjamin Akakpo on Joy News’ AM Show on Monday, October 28, 2024.
Alhaji Seidu Abagre, who had been in exile since being installed as a rival chief in February 2023 but had returned to Bawku when a Kumasi High Court revoked his arrest warrant on October 17, 2024, should have had another arrest warrant issued by the Attorney General immediately, he said.
“We were informed that the Attorney-General failed to provide a response, so the Court was forced to cancel the arrest warrant for Alhaji Seidu Abagre.”
He further emphasised that “the Attorney-General simply could have issued another arrest warrant but they didn’t do that,” and he held the Attorney-General accountable for his actions, which led to Alhaji Seidu’s return.
According to Agbambilla, the Bawku Naaba is not pleased with Alhaji Seidu Abagre’s homecoming.
