Black Sherif denies rumours that he and Shatta Wale are at odds.
Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has denied rumours that he made fun of Shatta Wale in a recent Snapchat clip after the latter criticised his sense of style.
On December 5, 2024, Black Sherif said in an interview with Nigeria’s City FM that his post had nothing to do with Shatta Wale’s comments. He clarified that he doesn’t reply to people who criticise his style choices and that he thinks the tension is being caused by supporters.
“He was the reason I didn’t post anything on Snapchat,” Black Sherif said. “So I can’t post on my Snap because someone did an interview? What people are saying on the internet is purely fan-driven. I don’t reply to comments regarding my style.
“I’ve been asked about this twice, but to be honest, I don’t even have the time to respond,” he remarked. “In my world, the entire matter is unimportant. You have to accept things if you care about them, and I don’t care—not in a rude way, either.
The ‘Kwaku The Traveller‘ hitmaker also insisted that there is no cause for hostility between him and Shatta Wale, stating that he does not see the two as competitors.
“Shatta Wale and I cannot have any relationship. The roles we perform in society simply make it impossible. That is unnecessary for the streets,” he said.
