Diddy’s mother claims, “My son is not a monster.”
The claims made against her son, Sean “Diddy” Combs, have left his mother “devastated and profoundly saddened,” but she also claims they are “lies.”
The singer, who had hits including I’ll Be Missing You in 1997, was detained last month on suspicion of racketeering and sex trafficking. After being refused bail, he is presently being held in a Manhattan detention facility.
Janice Small Combs spoke out in support of her son, stating that despite his past sins, which we have all committed, he is “not the monster they have painted him to be.”
“It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies,” she stated in her letter.
It happened five days after it was made public that Mr. Combs might be the target of lawsuits for claimed sexual assault, rape, and exploitation from over a hundred more accusers—both men and women.
The star’s attorney has referred to the allegations as “false and defamatory” and refuted them, along with all other charges.
Since Cassie Ventura, his former lover, accused him of rape and abuse last year, he has been involved in several cases.
A day after the case was filed, Mr. Combs refuted the accusations, and the matter was settled out of court. Twelve more women, many of whom said the artist had drugged and abused them, later sued him.
In March, federal agents conducted raids on his houses while they developed a criminal case against the celebrity.
Then, in May, a press leak revealed a video showing Mr. Combs physically abusing Ms. Ventura in a hotel room in 2016.
Ms. Small Combs made mentioned to the video in her statement, stating that she was “not here to portray my son as perfect because he is not.”.
