Election 2024: If elected, Mahama will construct a modern Savelugu market.
If John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is elected president in the impending 2024 elections, he has promised to construct a state-of-the-art market facility in Savelugu, Northern Region.
Mahama underlined that the planned market will establish Savelugu as a significant commerce hub in the area by giving traders a well-organised and roomy space, which will stimulate economic activity.
Speaking at a durbar in Savelugu on Thursday, October 31, Mahama emphasised his party’s commitment to the advancement of Ghana’s rural and urban areas and urged citizens to vote for the NDC in the next elections.
“The NDC‘s manifesto includes a number of items for the Ghanaian people. During her speech, my sister mentioned the Women’s Development Bank. We intend to establish Women’s Development Bank branches worldwide. And the Savelugu market will be one of the locations where we establish it.
“We intend to construct a contemporary Savelugu market and modernise the Savelugu market. The Market Enhancement Program is the name of our initiative.
“You can see how many people are at the market every time I pass here on Savelugu Market Day, so it’s one of the markets we’re going to prioritise. We’re going to build a modern market to draw people to Come and Trade in Savelugu.”
