#Election2024: In the Western and Western North Regions, the NDC gets 23 of 26 seats.
With 15 of 17 seats up for grabs in the votes conducted on December 7, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made a huge move in the Western Region.
In the election, one of the three women who ran on the NPP ticket won her seat, while the other five NDC women all won their seats.
For the first time, Mr. Nyameke Armah won the NDC’s Sekondi seat, while Mr. Majeed Dokurugu won the Effia seat.
While Mrs. Mavis Bissue won the Ahanta West seat and Mr. Isaac Adjei-Mensah kept the Wassa East seat, Mr. Fiifi Buckman got the Kwesimintsim seat and Mr. Kofi Bentil took the Mpohor seat.
Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Buah Armah occupied the Ellembelle seat, while Mrs. Joana Guan Cudjoe occupied the Amenfi central seat. Mrs. Dorcas Afo-Toffey also kept the Jomoro seat, and Mr. Kofi Arko Nokoe beat the record by keeping the Evalue Ajomoro-Gwira seat.
After Mrs. Emelia Arthur won the Shama seat, the NDC had to wait twenty years for Dr. Grace Ayensu-Danquah to take the Essikado-Ketan seat.
The NDC took the remaining eight seats in the Western North area, with the exception of the Suaman constituency, which was won by Mr. Fredrick Addy of the New Patriotic Party.
Richard Acheampong won the seat in Bia East, Mustapha Amadu Tanko got the seat in Bia West, and Kofi Afful Benteh won the seat in Sefwi-Wiawso.
Mr. Kwabena Minta Akandoh was chosen for the Juaboso seat, while Mr. Sampson Ahi got the Bodi seat.
After a twenty-year wait, Mr. Pius Nkuah was elected to the Sefwi-Akontombra seat, while Mr. Bright Asamoah Brefo was elected to the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai seat. Mr. Oscar O. Larbi was elected to the Aowin seat.
