Fameye declares, “I’ve invested too much in my brand to take 20k for a show.”
Fameye, a well-known highlife performer in Ghana, recently disclosed in an interview the large sums of money he invested to build his brand.
Fameye revealed to Andy Dosty on Hitz FM that he spends thousands of cedis on his music videos and purchasing pricey clothing, shoes, bags, and other accessories.

He went on to say that he had too much invested in his artistic career to receive GHC20,000 to play live.
Fameye also discussed how Ghanaian award programs are superior to the Grammy Awards.
The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, in his opinion, are significantly superior to the Grammy Awards. He clarified that musicians are nominated because the VGMA acknowledges their hard work.
He made it clear that no payment of any kind is required of musicians or their management for them to receive an award nomination.
But in situations such as the Grammy Awards, the artist management must put in a lot of work behind the scenes for their client to receive a nomination.
