Ghana Immigration Service Takes Strong Measures: 27 Officers Interdicted for Offenses
In a move to uphold integrity and accountability within its ranks, the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has taken decisive action by interdicting 27 of its officers for various offences. The interdicted officers include 24 junior officers and 3 senior officers, as announced in a public statement signed by Comptroller-General Mr. Kwame Asuah Takyi.
According to the statement sighted by http://bastectonline. the interdictions were prompted by serious allegations of recruitment and visa fraud, which are in direct violation of Regulation 138(1)(a) and (k) of the Immigration Service Regulation, 2016 (L.I 2245).
The GIS’s commitment to ensuring compliance to internal disciplinary procedures and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and ethics within its workforce led to the swift action taken against these officers.
The primary objective of the interdictions is to help adequate investigations into the alleged offences. This measure ensures a fair and transparent process, allowing the GIS to reveal the truth and hold accountable those found responsible for the crime. Following the completion of the investigations, the implicated officers will face necessary legal actions corresponding with their actions.
In a bid to encourage public participation and cooperation, C/Supt. Michael Amoako-Atta, in another statement have ask any individuals who may have been victims of the alleged acts of these officers to come forward and provide information.
