John Kumah, the deputy finance minister, has passed away.
According to reports, Deputy Minister of Finance John Kumah passed away.
A source close to the family verified the death of the Deputy Finance Minister, who also serves as a Member of Parliament for the Ashanti Region’s Ejisu, according to a news article published by asaaseradio.com.
Although the deputy minister’s cause of death remains unknown, reports suggest that he was ill.
John Kumah was forty-five.
He was considered one of the emerging stars in the ruling New Party Patriotic (NPP), and some party factions had him mentioned as a possible running mate for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s flagbearer.
He just became victorious in his constituency’s party’s parliamentary primaries, securing his candidature to represent it in the next general elections.
He practiced law, preached, and was an entrepreneur.

Before entering parliament in 2020, Kumah held the position of Chief Executive Officer for the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP).
His six children and his spouse, Apostle Mrs. Lilian Kumah, survived him.
