Rapper Ja Rule from America will be visiting Ghana.

Celebrated American rapper Ja Rule has revealed that he will be travelling to Ghana this week to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for a classroom building at Nuaso Anglican Primary School.

The rapper announced on social media that he planned to carry out his earlier promise to construct a school project in the nation.

Ja Rule shared a flyer about the project, revealing his partnership with Pencils of Promise, a US non-profit known for building schools and improving access to education globally.

Ja Rule and Pencils of Promise will collaborate to build a classroom block at the Eastern region’s Nuaso Anglican Primary School.

The project will formally start with the groundbreaking ceremony.

This comes after Ja Rule declared in a post on X (formerly Twitter) in January of this year that he will be extending his charitable endeavours to Ghana in January 2024.

Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Bruce Atkins Sr., rose to prominence in the 2000s hip-hop scene by fusing pop sensibilities with gangster rap. To release his debut studio album Venni Vetti Vecci in 1999, he signed with Irv Gotti’s Murder Inc Records, an imprint of Def Jam Recordings. The album produced his first song, “Holla Holla”.

With the help of Ashanti in his single “Always on Time” and his cameos on Jennifer Lopez’s songs “I’m Real (Murder Remix)” and “Ain’t It,” Ja Rule reached three different peak positions on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2001.

His hit singles “Mesmerise” with Ashanti, “Put It on Me” with Lil’ Mo and Vita, “Livin’ It Up” with Case, and “Wonderful” with R. Kelly and Ashanti have all peaked in the top ten of the chart and are the result of commercially successful album releases.
