Registration for the 2024 BECE opens; see deadline.
In July of 2024, candidates will take the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Exam registration opens as soon as WAEC announces the registration deadline.

The West African Examination Council (WAEC) states that registration for the 2024 BECE opened on March 11, 2024. The registration deadline is April 19, 2024.
Only junior high school students in their third or final year are eligible to take the BECE for School Candidates exam. Therefore, it is against the examination’s norms and regulations for schools to take part in the following activities:
recruit students and promote the BECE using any medium, such as print, electronic, or social media;
Students who have not attended junior high school from their first to their third year and who do not possess the necessary continuous assessment records should be registered. 70% of the BECE grade is determined by the external examination, and 30% is determined by the continuous assessment. Students who changed schools for any reason should be able to provide proof of the required continuous assessment records;
Students who are not in their last year or who are not actual students at the school in question should not be registered. According to intelligence reports, some public school kids are transferring to private schools to sit for the exam, as these institutions guarantee good scores.
THE 2024 BECE IS WHEN?
Monday, July 8, 2024, is when the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) will begin, and it will conclude on Friday, July 12, 2024.
