Stonebwoy explains why there won’t be a Skrewfaze cameo in the Jejereje remix.
Fans of music who are anticipating a Skrewfaze remix of Stonebwoy’s Jejereje had better forget about it.
In a recent interview, the Afro-dancehall artist stated that a remix of this kind will not occur.
On Onua TV, Stonebwoy stated that he would not profit commercially from a remix of the Jejereje song featuring Skrewfaze.
He stated that even though he intends to remix the song, he would ensure that the endeavor does more than just fulfil the desires of a select few; rather, he will think about the financial gain he will receive from it.
Many people noted Skrewfaze when the song was released, and he was thrilled about it. He even made a music video. However, the industry is large, and Portfolio made a statement about it. Perhaps you view it from the perspective of a fan. However, it will only be for the sake of being kind if you break it down. Because I already have a bunch of remixes prepared.
However, it won’t add any more commercial elements to the area where we are now [for the Skrewfaze function]. I would only have asked him for a feature out of politeness.
People have been discussing the idea of me remixing the Jejereje song with Skrewfaze. Although it’s a nice idea, his inclusion in the song won’t make it more commercially viable. It’s just because it’s nice,” he remarked.
He went on to say that a full management team is engaged in choosing who gets to hear his tunes, not just him.
Additionally, Stonebwoy hinted that many artists simply hopped on the song and performed their renditions; he feels Skrewfaze could have done the same without Stonebwoy or his crew contacting them.
Since there is only one week left, we weren’t going to contact out, so the simplest thing to do if that [the song] ignites a legend’s fire is to do a rendition on the rhythm right then and there if you want to. “I believe I left a comment and reposted,” he wrote.
When the song was published a few weeks ago, media personality and Master of Ceremonies MC Portfolio expressed a similar opinion to Stonebwoy’s regarding the remix.
Skrewfaze performed a live video for the song’s September 2024 release, implying that some of his fans had requested that he add his verse.
Skrewfaze’s name was frequently mentioned in the remix discussions since Stonebwoy’s Jejereje, featuring guitarist Ginton, is remarkably similar to Skrewfaze’s style of music. With more than 20 years of experience in the music business, the Gbalagazaa hitmaker is well-known for his fast-paced, Francophone-influenced tunes.
Among his other well-known songs are Bue Bue, Maabena, Ogogologo, and Too Fast.
