In a video, Teephlow claimed that he is not traveling to Ghana to pursue fame but rather to amass cash elsewhere. He said that having money was preferable to being famous but impoverished.

The performer went on to say that being wealthy and well-known is among the worst situations one can be in.

After receiving a 2023 Rapper of the Year nomination, Teephlow continued by pleading with other artists not to forfeit their long-term financial security in favor of notoriety.

He advised his colleagues not to allow themselves to be in the position of having to beg money from Ghanaians as he grew older.
