The 2024 recipients of the esteemed 3G Awards, which recognise the selfless deeds and services of Ghanaian, African, and international unsung heroes, have been revealed.
The event this year will be held at Yonkers, New York’s Ukrainian Youth Centre, on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
The Akumaa Mama Zimbi Foundation, Nyansa Boakwa of Happy FM, gospel musician Empress Gifty Osei, ACP Kofi Sarpong, highlife musician Ofori Amponsah, Prophet Kpegah Tamakloe, and Lord Kenya, a former hiplife star turned evangelist, are just a few of the notable people who received awards this year. Along with many other prominent people, the Black Queens, the national women’s football team of Ghana, and emerging football sensation, Doris Boaduwaa will also be honoured.
The 3G Awards, which are presented by 3G Media Group and Afrikan Digest, are intended to honour excellence in a variety of fields, including business, entertainment, sports, and humanitarian endeavours. Recipients of the prizes in the past have included notable individuals including Ghanaian politician and businessman Honourable Kennedy Agyapong, boxing great Azuma Nelson, and Hollywood star Abraham Attah.

Excellence in Business Leadership: Mr. Kwadwo Danso Dodoo
Excellence in Gospel Ministry: Rev. Peter Kwaku Yeboah, Willie & Mike (Best Gospel Duo), Rev. Paa Kwesi
Media Magnificence: Godfred Nuamah, Kingsley Amoah, and Maxwell Jennings (3G Best Media House of the Year)
Humanitarian Excellence: H.E. Rev. Dr. Lilian Sally Addo; Akumaa Mama Zimbi Foundation
Legend of the 3G Movie: Bill Asamoah, Mawuku Kuadzi, and Kalsum Sinare Baffoe
Africa’s Business Icons: Dr. Charles D. Opoku Fordjour, Dr. Ernest Sarpong, Dr. Osei Kwame Despite, and Aliko Dangote
The occasion will also honor people for their contributions to community empowerment and lifelong accomplishments. Induction into the 3G Hall of Fame for Prophet Cephas Kpegah Tamakloe and George Opoku, alias DJ G-Nyce, is scheduled, while Nii Abbey of Ghanamusic.com will receive recognition for her 25 years of work in showbiz promotion.
Africans’ abilities and contributions, both on the continent and in the diaspora, are now widely acknowledged through the 3G Awards. The ceremony this year honouring trailblazers and motivating the next generation is sure to be a great spectacle.
