The UPSA Bachelor of Laws Admission Guidelines and Application Process.
Applications are being accepted for admission to the UPSA Law School’s Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree for the 2024–2025 academic year. The entrance requirements and the application process are covered in this article.
UPSA Bachelor of Laws Entrance Requirements and Application Process
There are two cohorts available for the LLB degree program:
• A three-year LL.B. program designed for individuals with first degrees
• A four-year LL.B. program for those without a first degree
Students enrolled in the program are prepared for entrance to the Ghana School of Law’s professional training.
POST-FIRST DEGREE LLB PROGRAMME: THREE (3) YEARS
Students with a first degree in any field who want to enroll in the LL.B curriculum with the likely goal of becoming attorneys in the future are the target audience for this evening school session.
Note: This three-year undergraduate program is called the Post First Degree LL.B. Programme.
Qualifications:
Interested candidates must have earned at least a Second Class Lower in their first degree in any relevant discipline from an accredited university.
Extra Need
In addition, candidates must possess credit passes in five (5) subjects, including English language, mathematics, and any science subject at the GCE “O” Level, three (3) core subjects, three (3) elective subjects, and a pass in the general paper. These requirements must be met by applicants who have passed the WASSCE, SSSCE, or GBCE with at least a grade of C6 or D, respectively.

Admission Test and Interview for Selection
The shortlisted candidates for the 3-year post-first degree LL.B. program would need to pay GH¢100 non-refundable test fees to take the entrance exam. Those who pass the entrance exam will be required to attend a selection interview. Following this schedule, the entrance exam and selection interview will take place:

Please take note that lectures for applicants seeking a three-year post-first degree LLB are held on Saturday mornings and from Monday through Friday in the evenings.
Program for Non-First Degree Holders (Full-Time Day): Four (4) Year LL.B.
Requirements that are eligible for entry:
Exams for senior secondary school certificates (SSC) and the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE)
– A minimum Final Grade Point of 3.0 in Grade 12 at American High School.
– WAEC Advanced Level General Certificate of Education (GCE)
GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) and GCE (O and A) levels in Cambridge
• In addition to any three elective topics, applicants for the WASSCE and SSSCE/GBCE must have at least credit passes (i.e., grades A1–C6 and A–D, respectively) in three core subjects: English Language, Mathematics, and Integrated Science/Social Studies.
Note: Current senior high school students are also eligible to enroll; they will be taking the WASSCE/GBCE in July or August of 2024. On the online application form, they must accurately enter their WASSCE/GBCE index numbers.
• To be eligible for WAEC’s General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level, students must pass the General Paper in addition to one of any three (3) subjects (at least one of which must be a grade D or above). Furthermore, the candidate needs to have completed five (5) courses at the GCE Ordinary (‘O’) Level, including English language, mathematics, and any science subject, with credit passes (Grade 6) or higher.
• Candidates for the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE)/Cambridge GCE “O” and “A” Level must have earned at least five (5) credit passes, with two of those credits coming from English and Mathematics at the GCSE/Baccalaureate/Cambridge “O” Level and three from the “A” Level.

Filling out the Online Application
All applications must be completed online i.e.
Visit admissions.upsa.edu.gh to log in.
To access the online application form, use the receipt number and the Online Serial Numbers (OSN).
Complete the application and send it online.
