In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Safo Newman explained the meaning behind his choice of headgear. He said that donning a beanie was a way to express his gratitude to a supporter whose steadfast assistance had been crucial to his musical career.
He explained that, in contrast to what some may think was a fashion statement, wearing it was simply his way of thanking a mentor who had given him financial support from the beginning of his music career in 2019.
He added that even though the guy wearing the beanie was a stranger, he had continuously given him both material and moral support.
“My beanie is an homage to the individual who saw potential in me right away. Though we are not blood relatives, he has supported my musical dreams unwaveringly, acting as a father figure to me. I had never met him in person until recently, but before that, he was always reaching out to me and helping me out. Even though he is not situated in Ghana, he nevertheless goes out of his way to assist me as if he has known me my entire life.
He always sports a beanie, which affected my decision on headgear. His gift of beanies serves as both a symbol of gratitude and a constant reminder of his kindness. I can only honor the one who saw potential in me before others did by doing that, he told Graphic Showbiz.
