Ghana to introduce 5G internet connectivity by September 2024 — Ursula Owusu confirms.

According to Minister of Communications and Digitalisation Ursula Owusu Ekuful, 5G internet access will be available nationwide by September 2024.

During an interview on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show, the minister stated that the government is dedicated to offering Ghanaians dependable and smooth internet access.

She underlined that improving internet access and resolving the issues of sluggish and inconsistent connectivity encountered with the current 4G network is made possible by the rollout of 5G technology.

Mrs. Ekuful assured the populace that the introduction of 5G technology will soon put an end to redundant internet connectivity.

Speaking on the recent disruptions to the nation’s internet, the minister expressed regret for the trouble caused and gave the people confidence that action was being taken to fix the problem as soon as possible.

Owusu Ekuful surmised that the disturbances might have been caused by a landslide or other physical damage to the internet connections, however, the precise reason for the problems is yet unknown.

The minister said that her office has not yet determined the entire amount of losses experienced when it comes to the financial impact of the disruptions.

To avoid internet outages in the future, she emphasized the value of making investments in a strong infrastructure, which includes several cable connections.
