Video displays ‘Internal Documents’-based iPhone 17 mockups.
In a video released on Friday, YouTuber iDeviceHelp displays mockups of Apple’s next iPhone 17 variants, allegedly derived from “internal documents.” Since the video was created in cooperation with leaker Majin Bu, who released comparable iPhone 17 renders last month that other leakers extensively verified with connections to Apple’s Chinese supply chain, we’re sharing it here.

According to recent sources, Apple intends to drastically redesign the camera on its future iPhone 17 Pro models, doing away with the recognisable square camera bump in favour of a unique aluminium camera bar that extends the width of the smartphone.
The new iPhone 17 Air model, which will take the place of the Plus model in Apple’s lineup, also features the revamp. The buttons on the gadget seem to be located in the same locations as those in iPhone 16 models, according to the mockups. A handheld comparison of the iPhone 17 Air with the other versions in the lineup is shown at various points in the film.
The majority of rumours indicate that the iPhone 17 Air will have a 6.6-inch display, making it larger than the iPhone 17 but smaller than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, with the exception of one outlier story from last week. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 17 Air will have a bigger back camera bump area and a 5.5mm chassis since it will be 5.5mm thick at its thinnest point.

Last month, Jeff Pu, an Apple supply chain analyst, announced that aluminium frames would be included in the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. But Pu anticipates a titanium frame for Apple’s rumoured iPhone 17 Air variant. According to Pu, Apple intends to employ aluminium for the iPhone 17 Pro models because of environmental concerns, even though the company included titanium as a feature for its Pro models in 2023.

For the iPhone 17 Pro versions, Apple is apparently testing a wireless reverse charging capability that would allow the iPhone to power other Apple gadgets. Notably, given how thin the iPhone 17 Air is, iDeviceHelp wonders if Apple will be able to incorporate MagSafe magnets inside the handset.
