Ireland’s Women in Computer Science 2024 Generation Google Scholarship Programme.

The Generation Google Scholarship 2024 for Irish Women in Computer Science is now accepting applications. To help young computer scientists flourish in technology and rise to leadership positions in their domains, the Generation Google Scholarship for Women in Computer Science was founded in Ireland.

Scholarships will be given out to a subset of female undergraduate applicants chosen from the applicant pool according to their academic background, leadership experience, and contribution to diversity. All eligible students who fulfill the program’s minimal prerequisites are welcome to apply. We highly recommend applying to any female students interested in computer science.

Qualifications
To be qualified to apply, candidates need to:

1. Enrol in an Irish university for the 2023–2024 academic year as an undergraduate in your first or second year.
2. Plan to finish their bachelor’s degree program at an Irish university during the 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 academic years, at the very least.

3. Candidates should be enrolled in computer science, engineering, or a similar technological discipline and have a strong academic background.
4. Show initiative and a strong commitment to increasing the participation of underrepresented groups in technology and computer science.

The Generation Google Scholarship 2024 Requirements

You will need to complete the following online application:

1. Background information in general (e.g., contact data and information about your present and potential universities)
2. CV/Resume
3. Transcripts of your academic records from your present school.

4. Answers to inquiries about short response essays.

Questions for Essays

The purpose of the two short answer essay questions below is to assess your capacity for problem-solving and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The answers to the next two questions should each be 500 words.

Give an example of a barrier that keeps some people from having equal access to the field of technology based on your own experience. What do you think the underlying reason is? What steps have you already taken and what more are you going to take to rectify this injustice? Kindly devote a minimum of fifty percent of your reply to the steps you have already taken.

Remember that impact can occur on a variety of scales and in a variety of ways.
Share with them a situation in which you encountered a difficult issue for which there was no obvious solution. Give a thorough explanation of the processes you followed to arrive at the solution. Which tools and remedies did you take into account? What insights did this event give you? Remember that you may be experiencing this issue at your job, school, extracurricular activities, or your home.
