On the 2024 TGMA, Efia Odo apologizes to Stonebwoy for his disparaging remarks.

Socialite Efia Odo has publicly apologized to well-known Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy for remarks she made disparagingly during the 2024 Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

Recall that in May 2024, amid intense discussions on social media about who should have won the coveted TGMA Artiste of the Year Award, King Promise’s ardent supporter Efia Odo referred to Stonebwoy as “old” and proposed that he give the award to younger performers, such as King Promise, who she felt more deserved it due to their more recent musical accomplishments.

In an interview with ‘United Showbiz’ on July 27, 2024, however, Efia Odo acknowledged her error and apologized for what she had said, attributing it to her intense feelings as a King Promise devotee.
“When I’m a fan of someone, I really get into it at that moment. My remarks to Stonebwoy, referring to him as an elderly man, were incorrect. I acknowledge that,” she said to the show’s host, MzGee.

She listed Stonebwoy as one of Ghana’s top artists and recognized his important contributions to the music business.

Efia Odo continued, saying she thought Stonebwoy should seek for international honours like the Grammys and should be recognised for more than just the Ghana Music Awards.

“I truly wanted to emphasize that you are, in my opinion, more than the Ghana Music Awards. She said, “I think you’re bigger than the platforms they’re giving you.”

Efia Odo accepted full responsibility for her conduct and expressed regret for allowing her feelings to overpower her when she stood up for King Promise.
