An artist’s success shouldn’t be determined by metrics. “Ayisi.”

According to Ghanaian musician Emmanuel Kwadwo Oware, better known by his stage name Ayisi, an artist’s success shouldn’t be determined only by how many streams and social media followers they have.

The well-known composer claims that a true measure of an artist’s success and influence is found in the songs they write and the way other people respond to them.

Ayisi, formerly known as “A.I.,” claimed in an interview with GNA Entertainment that music fans have shown him a great deal of love and support throughout the years, particularly after the release of the popular song “Grind” in 2016.

More love comes my way than what my social media accounts seem to indicate. I believe that evaluating an artist’s achievement only based on their financial success is a bad idea. An artist’s level of success shouldn’t be determined by their social media following and the number of verified posts.

My statistics don’t do the love and support I receive,” he remarked.

Ayisi said, “I will always be a student of the music craft,” in response to a question concerning the advancements he has achieved in his musical career over the previous several years. I have established goals during my music journey. I think it is a fair judgement of how I am doing when people can relate to my music.

“I receive more support and radio play than I ever could have dreamed of, and every day I meet new people who are shocked to learn that I am even from Ghana.”

Speaking about his new song with Grammy-winning songwriter Fameye, Ayisi said he was happy that the two of them had finally collaborated to produce a masterpiece because he had always wanted to work with Fameye on a song.

“I’ve been wanting to record a song with Fameye for a while, but I wasn’t sure I had the appropriate one until the ‘Sika’ single dropped. Luckily, I knew someone who was connected to him, and it was he who arranged for the cooperation. Ayisi commented, “I was pleased that he finally grasped the song’s structure and was impressed by his verse.

Since its debut two weeks ago, the single “Sika” has received a tonne of radio play and great streaming numbers.
