GFA provides nine football clubs with buses.

In keeping its pledge to assist clubs, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sent buses to nine clubs.

The presentation ceremony, which took place at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, honored teams from the Ghana Premier League and Division One League.

The buses were distributed among Young Apostles, Okwahu United, New Edubiase United, Basake Holy Stars, and Vision FC.

By improving clubs’ transport logistics, the programme hopes to increase their operational effectiveness and competitiveness.

Mr. George Aforklenyuie, the founder of Vision FC, thinks it will significantly alleviate the club’s transportation issue on game days.

“It will greatly aid our course; the bus we currently have here, although it appears brand new, has some issues. I understand that our bus broke down three times on the way to Brong Ahafo the last time,” he told JoySports.

“This one has come to solve that problem, and if you recall the scoreline of three goals to zero, you will see that we actually lost that much.”

“The trip, the routes, and the bus we took are all to blame. I can promise you that we won’t record that terribly this time around with this bus.”

With today’s event, a pledge made to teams in Ghana Football’s top three divisions is being fulfilled. Kurt Okraku, the president of the Ghana Football Association, stated nine months ago that “the strategy is to invest in thirty buses for clubs in the three tier Leagues of Ghana to enhance performance and growth of the domestic game.”

The remaining buses are still at Tema Harbour, awaiting clearance, and have not yet been distributed by the GFA.
