Singer Safo Newman says, “People have advised me to take drugs to boost my confidence during performances.”
Ghanaian singer Safo Newman, who is well-known for songs like “Miss Isabela,” “Akokoa,” and “Sorrow Fly,” recently talked about the difficulties he has had since becoming well-known.
Safo disclosed in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM that some have advised he use illegal drugs to increase his energy and confidence when performing. He adamantly declared, “I won’t be doing that,” in spite of the advice. “I don’t think I can do that,” he said, emphasising his commitment to his identity.
Safo admitted that some people who don’t understand the variations in people’s temperaments have criticised him for his composed performance style, which stems from his reclusive nature. He clarified that although some might anticipate a more “wild” performance, he is dedicated to remaining true to himself.
The artist has also come under fire for his attire and what some consider to be a lack of stage presence. Safo is still committed to honing his music and performance in spite of the criticism. He revealed that in addition to honing his craft, he is writing music that not only makes people dance but also engages their minds with thought-provoking ideas.
