‘This Is My Last Year’ – Salah Says No Discussions Over New Liverpool Arrangement.
Mohamed Salah says it is his “last year” at Liverpool and that no one at the club has conversed with him about another agreement.
The 32-year-old scored in the Reds’ crushing 3-0 victory over Manchester United on Sunday. His current contract at Anfield is set to expire next summer.
Manager Arne Slot responded to a question regarding Salah’s remarks, ” There is a lot of “if.” He is a member of our team at the moment, which makes me extremely pleased, and he performed exceptionally well.
“I don’t discuss contracts from players yet I can speak for quite a long time about how Mo played today.”
Salah signed a new three-year contract in July 2022, making him the club’s highest-paid player with a salary of more than £350,000 per week.
Liverpool dismissed a £150m offer from Al-Ittihad for Salah last September.
Salah had a record-breaking afternoon at Old Trafford, scoring in each of Liverpool’s first three games of the season:
Salah has either scored (11) or helped (6) 17 of Liverpool’s last 23 Head Association objectives against Manchester joined together. The Egyptian has more objective contributions versus the Red Fiends than some other players in the opposition.
Salah said a while later he had dealt with the match like it was his last at Old Trafford.
He stated to Sky Sports, “I was coming to the game, I was saying, ‘Look, it could be the last time.'”
“No one in the club conversed with me yet about agreements, so I was very much like, ‘Right, I play my last season and see towards the finish of the time.’.
“I feel free to play football; we’ll see what happens the following year,”
He has scored 10 objectives in nine appearances at Old Trafford for Liverpool in all rivalries. Since Alan Shearer scored ten goals at Elland Road in 1992-93, he is only the second Premier League player to do so at a single away stadium.
In five consecutive Premier League matches against Manchester United, Salah has scored his first goal.
Liverpool is now second in the table, just behind leaders Manchester City in goals scored, after winning against old rivals Manchester United.
“An incredible outcome,” said Salah. ” Everyone is aware that the derby is significant to the city and the fans. We must continue, and if you want to compete for the league, you must win every game.
“I figured out how to be associated with three so I’m cheerful about that. The supervisor likes us to squeeze high and there were two or three missteps; however we figured out how to utilize them – it was important for the arrangement.
“We were always like this with Jurgen to get the ball as high as we could. Very comparable from a long time back, the director has his own framework and we attempt to adjust that.”
