The 67th Independence Day of Ghana is celebrated in a magnificent ceremony by Ghanaians residing in Vietnam.

On March 6, people all around the world celebrated Ghana’s 67th Independence Day and the country’s progress towards freedom and self-determination. Even while some Ghanaians living abroad were unable to attend the yearly celebration, their fellow citizens in Vietnam made sure to commemorate the occasion uniquely.

The Ghanaian community in Vietnam convened for the 67th Independence Day Celebration Conference on Saturday, March 16, at the JW Marriot Hotel Hanoi, to plan an event in commemoration of Ghana’s Independence Day. Strengthening the ties of friendship, recognition, tolerance, and mutual prosperity between Ghana and Vietnam was the main goal of this meeting.

The Ghanaian community in Vietnam showed incredible organizational skills in planning this important event, led by its president, Christian Amoh. Ghanaian dignitaries attended the meeting, giving it more prominence and importance. In the presence of delegates from both countries, the occasion offered a forum for cultivating more intimate relationships and investigating prospects for joint ventures in other fields.

Together with the combined efforts of the Ghanaian community in Vietnam, Christian Amoh’s leadership demonstrated Ghana and Vietnam’s steadfast dedication to fostering a partnership based on respect and cooperation. The conference location exuded a spirit of celebration and unity that underscored the lasting relationships that are being established between the two countries.

Attendees from Vietnam’s side included Nguyễn Thành Hưng, Senior Advisor-Vietnam Government Office; Trinh Minh Anh, Head of Office, Vietnam Inter-sectoral Steering Committee on International Economic Integration; Phạm Hữu Đức, Deputy Ambassador, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Lê Toàn Thắng, Deputy Director, NSSC Centre, Ministry of Science and Technology; Đặng Vũ Nhật Thăng, Senior Advisor on Internal Relations; and Trần Tuấn Mình, Director of V-ASEAN Promotion Centre, Ministry of Planning and Investment.

On March 6, 1957, Ghana declared its independence from British colonial rule. The historical evolution is celebrated every year. A nationwide event was conducted in Koforidua, Eastern Region, for this year’s edition. Similar activities were also organized in other districts and areas of the nation.
