Election 2024: Osae-Kwapong: Peace agreements need to be supported by action.

Political parties and other parties involved in the general elections of 2024 have been urged by Dr. John Osae-Kwapong, a Fellow at the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD), to show a sincere commitment to peace by taking tangible steps instead of just signing peace pacts.

In her Saturday, November 30, 2024, appearance on The Big Issue, Dr. Osae-Kwapong recognised the value of peace agreements in developing communication and a nonviolent culture. He did, however, warn that although important, such agreements are insufficient to guarantee a peaceful election process.

Our political temperament on that particular day is one of the things that, in my opinion, we must be able to effectively handle,” he continued.
