Fidelity Bank solidifies its position as the sector leader in sustainability and ESG.
With numerous distinguished awards that highlight its dedication to sustainability and social impact, Fidelity Bank Ghana has once again cemented its place as a pioneer in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards.
Fidelity Bank has won two more industry awards for its forward-thinking ESG and sustainability initiatives after being named the Global Business and Finance Magazine Awards’ “Best ESG Bank of the Year 2024 in Ghana.”
Fidelity Bank received two prestigious awards at the 2024 Sustainability and Social Investment Awards: the Sustainability & Operational Excellence Award and the Best Company in ESG Integration, Reporting & Disclosure.
These honours demonstrate how Fidelity Bank, which supports projects that add social and environmental value, is a leader in sustainable business practices in Ghana’s financial sector.
“We are incredibly honoured to receive these awards, which affirm our commitment to sustainability, transparency, and positive impact in the communities we serve,” said Kwabena Boateng, Deputy Managing Director of wholesale banking at Fidelity Bank Ghana.
“At Fidelity Bank, we think that doing business responsibly can create long-term benefit, and these honours are evidence of our ongoing efforts to significantly impact Ghana.
The awards honour Fidelity Bank’s significant projects, like its Waste to Cash program, which turns waste materials like paper and plastic into new sources of income while promoting economic empowerment and environmental benefits.
The GreenTech Innovation Challenge (GTIC), which Fidelity Bank offered awards to agritech companies using technology to address issues in Ghana’s agricultural sector, complements this creative strategy. These programs demonstrate Fidelity’s commitment to sustainability and its proactive strategy for promoting constructive change in a variety of industries.
Organisations who go above and above in their ESG efforts are recognised by the Sustainability & Social Investment Awards, which are widely considered the standard for ethical business practices.
In the meantime, Fidelity Bank’s designation as the 2024 ESG Bank of the Year highlights its leadership in advancing sustainable development within the sector, and the Ghana Accountancy and Finance Awards honour quality and innovation in Ghana’s financial industry.
These successes are consistent with Fidelity Bank’s long-standing goal of acting as a conscientious corporate citizen in Ghana. As a result, the bank’s initiatives—which range from encouraging recycling and waste reduction to providing money and mentorship to agribusiness and youth-led enterprises—continue to have an influence on countless lives.
