Funny Face was granted GH¢120,000 bail and is accused of reckless and intoxicated driving.

Yesterday, the Ofaakor Circuit Court, Kasoa, in the Awutu Senya East District of the Central Region, granted GH¢120,000 bail with two sureties to comedian and actor Nana Yaw Oduro for reckless driving.

Oduro, popularly known as Funny Face, is also accused of driving while intoxicated. The matter will now proceed on May 10.

The accused allegedly crashed his automobile into a gathering of people at Kasoa Kakraba Junction on Sunday night, March 24, hurting two other motorcyclists as well as a mother and her two children.

When the accident happened, Funny Face was traveling from Kasoa to Nyanyano in a Hyundai Atos with the license plate GN-1134-16. After the incident, he left the site, and several kind people drove the injured people to the hospital.

Sources claim that Funny Face was speeding when he hit a patch of road at Kakraba Junction, where he struck Theresa Quaicoe, 50, and her two children, Elisabeth Turkson, 5, and Rohi Kofi Turkson, 1, while they were crossing the street.

According to reports, the defendant also brought down 30-year-old Nicholas Ashang when he was riding a motorbike.

According to the source, the victims were hurt and sent right away to Kasoa Polyclinic to receive medical attention.

But later on, Theresa and Elizabeth were moved to the Central Region’s Trauma and Specialist Hospital at Winneba for additional care.

The source stated once more that although the victims were responding to treatment, the one-year-old infant at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra was in critical condition.

The police were attempting to apprehend the comedian, who was evading custody, to aid with their investigation.

However, the accused later turned himself into the Kasoa Divisional Police Command accompanied by his attorney, and he was charged right away.

According to information obtained by The Ghanaian Times, the car and motorcycle had been seized at the police station while inquiries were still ongoing. According to eyewitness testimony, the commercial motorbike rider was struck after the mother and her children were on the pedestrian lane.
