Lucille King was crowned Miss Malaika Ghana 2024’s queen.
On Saturday, November 16th, the Palms Convention Centre in Accra hosted the stunning conclusion of the Miss Malaika Ghana 2024 competition.
Lucille Naakwaley King, 25, was declared the winner in a spectacular finale that emphasised beauty, skill, and female empowerment following weeks of competition. Let’s examine this esteemed occasion and its recently crowned queen in more detail.
Co-host Bliss King opened the glittering finale by introducing the top ten contestants, who then made a grand entrance onto the stage and drove the ladies to the event in luxurious cars as part of The Dream Collection’s spectacular car display.
In a one-on-one interview with host Regina Van-Helvert, the women got an opportunity to demonstrate their composure and personalities. The field was subsequently reduced to the top five finalists—Marie, Delphine, Lucille, Cherise, and Whitney—based on the votes cast before the event.
One of the night’s most powerful parts was when the top five finalists gave individual statements on their role models, emphasising their major accomplishments and how their experiences motivate them to become the woman they want to be.
As a role model, Lucille King selected Dr. Arikana Chihombori-Quao, a medical clinic founder, activist, diplomat, and businesswoman. “I want to say a big thank you, Dr. Chihombori-Quoa,” Lucille said passionately as she applauded Dr. Chihombori-Quao’s numerous successes. I appreciate you demonstrating the multifaceted nature of women. And for being a powerful, female Pan-African advocate who not only empowers me with your words but also with your actions.” Lucille’s desire to be a multifaceted leader and advocate for women’s empowerment throughout Africa was emphasised by this choice of role model.
The Panel of Judges
It was difficult to choose a winner from such a talented bunch of candidates. Reputable personalities from the entertainment, business, and pageantry industries made up the Miss Malaika Ghana 2024 judging panel: Miss Malaika 2010 winner Ama O. In order to assess the contestants’ attractiveness, intelligence, talent, and potential for influence, this varied panel brought together experts from a range of areas.
The Queen’s coronation
Many people referred to the night’s last part as “the make or break” moment for the top five delegates. where the judges put them on the spot and asked them questions on their individual speeches. The judges’ final and final verdict, which addressed the persistent issue of “Who wins what?” was made a few minutes after the last delegate responded, “Thank you for the question,” and continued with her response.
24-year-old Fiakegbe Marie Juniore was named the first runner-up, while 20-year-old Cherise Nana Ama was named the second runner-up. Lucille Naakwaley King was crowned Miss Malaika Ghana 2024, and then the moment arrived! Lucille accepted the crown with grace as the crowd cheered.
Three finalists—Lucille, Nakiya, and Marie—who were chosen during pre-judging participated in a talent competition that evening as well. The women were able to demonstrate abilities beyond appearance and public speaking in this segment. Lucille’s upbeat salsa dance performance dazzled the audience. The judges decided that she was Miss Talent because of her flawless hand movements, perfect footwork, and captivating stage presence. This extra honor demonstrated Lucille’s star power and well-rounded skills.
The audience enjoyed amazing dance performances by Dancegodloyd and his team in between competition rounds, as well as amazing musical performances by some of Ghana’s best artists, including Camidoh, Olivetheboy, and LalixLola. In addition to showcasing Ghana’s thriving music culture and its stunning and gifted women, these entertaining performers maintained a high level of enthusiasm throughout the evening.
Lucille discussed her feelings about winning Miss Malaika Ghana 2024 in a post-win interview. For me, winning the crown means more than most people realise. It implies that I can more fully pursue my life’s goal of assisting others. I’ve always wanted to improve people’s lives and bring about change, but up until now, it has seemed like an impossible endeavour. I am quite appreciative of the opportunity to assist others, and I am eager to do so through my first project, which is focused on kids with Down syndrome and autism.
“These kids experience neglect, loneliness, misunderstandings, and occasionally even mockery. I wish to assist in making this change. I want people to understand how deserving children with these problems are of love, or at the absolute least, respect and decency. I want to tell their tales in order to humanize them and demonstrate to the nation that, despite their differences, they are still worthwhile and deserving.
