New Date of Vacation for SHS3 Single Track Students.
A revised break date has been published by the Ghana Education Service (GES) for seniors in single-track secondary high schools.
The dates have had to be changed, according to tothe GES, in order to allow all final-year students enrolled in Single Track schools the time to prepare for their impending WASSCE for school candidates.
Date of Vacation for SHS3 Students on Single Track
The first calendar release from the GES said that the SHS3 students’ holiday in single-track schools would take place on March 5, 2024. Nonetheless, the pupils will stay in school until March 28, 2024, in acbynew rule.
For the semester, their break will begin on March 29. Both students and teachers will be able to stay in class longer during the roughly two weeks leading up to their semester, which will allow them to study their material, complete revision activities, and get ready for the approaching West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
Many single-track SHS teachers have built their curricula and activities around the first calendar release, so it’s unclear how they will react to the shift. The chance seems to have been impacted by the Easter celebrations, which start on March 29.
The fact that the holidays have been extended until March 28 will help prevent pupils from leaving for home and coming back to school only to have to return for the Easter holidays.
All students in their last year of education in single-track schools will return to class on April 17, 2024, to resume their academic work, having left on March 28.
The amount of vacation days that were initially scheduled for these students, who are in their last year of education, will be lowered due to the calendar alteration. The second semester’s reopening was initially scheduled for May 2, 2024.
It is crucial to remember, too, that this training is limited to students who are in their last year of study at single-track colleges.
Pupils in Forms 1 and 2 will follow the original academic calendar that they were assigned; no changes will be made to the dates that they attend these schools for vacations or reopenings.
Form 2 pupils’ March 5, 2024, holiday is still planned, and their May 2, 2024, return date to school is set. In a similar spirit, Form 1 students will resume classes on May 2, 2024, after taking a holiday on March 15, 2024.
